About Me:
I am a recovering alcoholic (over 6 years)& a recovering heterosexual (This means I'm a LESBIAN!),
I have a Master's Degree in Social Work, & although I'm a Native Texan - I reside in Southern Arizona. (I decided Texas wasn't hot enough & didn't have enough scorpions & rattlesnakes.) I don't affiliate myself with any particular religion, however I do believe that God/dess (no matter what s/he is called) is all knowing & all powerful, is love, loves EVERYONE, & wants what is best for all of us. Sounds kind of like a MOM to me. |

My Interest In The Goddess:
My Interest in the Goddess, her herstoy, & her many forms began when I was a young child. I would look up Greek & Roman mythology in the Encyclopedia & read about the different Goddesses & what area of life they ruled. I have never lost this interest & looking back, I think that I was probably searching for a deity or sense of spirituality that I as a female could identify with.
Lesbian Goddesses:
I think that as the telling of Goddess stories entered modern times & were taken over by men, the stories got whitewashed & changed. "Virgin Goddesses" were portrayed as asexual when originally Virgin meant "untouched by man" - which could be true for a Lesbian! There are a couple of Goddess stories that just scream LESBIAN! even when it is not said. Athena - the Goddess of Wisdom & War (dressed in armor - real butch) was said to be the "constant companion" of the Goddess Nike ("Winged Victory"). The God Zeus impregnated Callisto when he appeared in the form of the Goddess Artemis & made love to her. Artemis was angry when she found out Callisto was pregnant & demanded to know by whom. Yet no one ever mentions the word LESBIAN???
